The Mentone Grammar Parents & Friends (P&F) is a group of volunteers who play an active and productive role in supporting, serving and caring for the members of the Mentone Grammar Community.
About the P&F
Being involved in P&F activities is a great way to connect with Mentone Grammar students and families. The Parents and Friends Committee welcomes all members of the School Community. We aim to:
- Encourage friendship and communication between parents by organising ‘friend raising’ events
- Ensure the range of events offered are fully inclusive of all the community
- Encourage a positive and supportive relationship within the community
- Promote a sense of belonging in the school community
- Raise funds to contribute to the enhancement of the school environment for our children
- Have a strong direction, which is consistent, transparent and relevant
- Be highly approachable and reliable
- Have great communication within the group, with the school leadership and staff, and the wider community
- Feel connected by our common purpose of being a part of this community, and have an enjoyable time while we are here.
If you know of anyone in the school community who is interested in joining us or simply wants to get to know people in the community, please contact us.
Class Representatives
Mentone Grammar operates a Class Representative system, where each class from ELC - Year 12 has a parent representative. The Class Rep's role is to facilitate social activities amongst parents, provide a welcome to new parents and perform a vital communication link between the P&F, other volunteer organisations around the School, and the parent community. The Class Representative can also coordinate support to families in times of need such as family illness and provide a valuable link between parents and the school. Once the students move into Frogmore (Years 10 -12), parents can become involved in other committees that surround specialist interests.
The P&F meetings are held once a month at 6.30pm in the Professional Learning Lounge.
We run a sub-committee structure for the events and services we offer. So if you cannot make a main committee meeting, but would like to be involved in organising an event, then please contact us. We would love your help!

Although the main focus for the P&F is 'friend raising', fundraising to support the School is part of what we do. We couldn't achieve our goals without the support and sponsorship of generous individuals and local businesses.
In the past, funds have contributed to shade sails, a large aquarium, the first aid caravan, upgrading the bike sheds, a large sandpit, a cubby house and fittings for the ELC and renovating the Greenways kitchen.
We would like to thank all of our below sponsors for their ongoing support.
